The Oaks Par 4   Vyner Par 4

Red Tee 298 SI 2   Red Tee 298 SI 5

A challenging opening hole, the ladies tee is 30yds ahead of the mens. But an easier hole second time around for the men with the yellow tee forward. The fairway is slightly undulating and at each side of the fairway there are lateral water hazards. On the left is out of bounds, and on the right the grassed ditches can sometimes be played out of. Further along on the right there is a water hazard surrounded by trees. With luck a shot to the green is often possible from here. There's a shallow swale in front of the green with steep run-off grass banks to the left and beyond.

An Teallach Par 3   Buoy Par 3
White Tee  138 SI 18   Yellow Tee 181 SI 8
Red Tee 120 SI 18   Red Tee 131 SI 15

The signature hole of the course, with the Ullapool River breaking into the fairway, creating a lateral water hazard on the left. The hole is named after An Teallach mountain seen from these elevated tees, across the loch to the hills beyond. This is an interesting hole with anything between a driver and a wedge required from the tee, depending on wind direction. The red tee is 50 yds ahead as is the yellow 11th tee, and this tee shot needs to clear the bank of gorse bushes which create a drop of 30 feet to the fairway. A rise of 6 feet leads to a green that slopes from back to front, guarded by bunkers on either side at the front.

Loch Broom Par 4   Waterside Par 4
White Tee  296 SI 5   Yellow Tee 338 SI 2
Red Tee 291 SI 1   Red Tee 261 SI 7

A narrow fairway, sloping to the left, with banks of gorse on the right, and the loch and beach (LWH) on the left. The 12th tees provide a more difficult angle to the fairway, which brings the rough bank on the right into play. Too far to the left, over the high gorse hedge, and a long ball can run out of fairway onto the beach. These holes can provide a daunting prospect from both tees, especially in high winds. Lucky golfers have watched their ball hit the beach and bounce back onto the fairway! The red 3rd tee is 70yds further forward and extra distance can be gained by reaching the swale 100 yds from the green. Not much room for error with a shot to the large green with a steep bank of gorse to the right, the beach on the left and little room beyond.

White Tee  152 SI 10   Yellow Tee 160 SI 13

The second of the short Par 3 holes, the elevated tees create a 20 foot drop to the fairway and gorse bushes cover the first 50 yards. A slightly longer Par 3 from the higher teeing ground for the yellow tee, and considerably longer from the red. Two bunkers protect the green which requires a brave shot to avoid the grass and heather bank on the right, and the steep drop to the beach (LWH) on the left. The large green has three levels with a raised middle terrace. Hole 4 & 13

Gully Par 4   The Burn Par 4
White Tee  251 SI 14   Yellow Tee 230 SI 17
Red Tee 231 SI 3   Red Tee 230 SI 4

With one of the finest views to the South, both tees are elevated and as the name of the hole suggests, the challenge is clearing the gully (WH) midway between the tee and green. The wide fairway is upward sloping, and sets up an interesting shot up to the green which has two levels. Short and you could find the deepest bunker on the course, long and you could find the whins and gorse that shield the back of the green. From the 14th tee the hole is a different prospect with in particular, the gorse area to the left of the gully coming into play, and a drive hit too far to the right can land on the 4th tee, leading to an interesting blind shot to the green.

Terrace Par 4   Castle Par 4
White Tee  262 SI 15   Yellow Tee 278 SI 16
Red Tee 262 SI 16   Red Tee 252 SI 17

Dogleg to the left with a sloping fairway, and in dry conditions everything runs to the right. A soft draw is the shot and long hitters might be tempted to cut the corner to the green. The wide fairway curves around a large heather, gorse and long grass covered mound. This can come more into play from the 15th tee. Shots to the green are uphill with a final slope leading down to the putting area. Grass mounds around the back provide a natural shelter to the putting surface.

Crofts Par 4/5   The Mounds Par 4/5
White Tee  378 SI 4   Yellow Tee 278 SI 1
Red Tee 378 SI 8   Red Tee 252 SI 13

The longest Par 4 on the course from the yellow tee at nearly 400 yds, but a wide open fairway, before the dogleg to the right. From the same teeing ground on the 7th, an ambitious Par 4 from the White tee and a Par 5 from the Red. A dogleg to the right and a good drive contends with a rough mound to the left and grassed mounds to the right. Second shots bring Alan's Garden into play – an area of heather, peat, ditches and trees on the right. Shorter hitters may play short of the narrow, deep ditch (WH) that dissects the fairway 100yds from the green. A white triangle in the high gorse beyond is the target for the green. Avoiding the rough on both sides, the undulating fairway runs down to the green and in dry conditions the ball can run and run. To the left is a Dropping Zone for those who overshoot the green and can't take relief and a bell leaving the green can be rung to indicate the way is clear for players behind.

Long Par 5   Ben Dearg Par 5
White Tee  486 SI 6   Yellow Tee 477 SI 7
Red Tee 410 SI 11   Red Tee 414 SI 6

The longest hole on the course, and a dogleg to the left. A slightly different position to play from these teeing grounds, but still a straight drive required to avoid the trouble on both sides. On the right is Alan's Garden again and a ball hit left may find a ditch (LWH) with the Out of Bounds practice area beyond. This extends up the wide fairway with grass mounds to the right. At the corner at 250 yds to the green is a shallow bunker with two more catching unwary shots at 60 yds before the flat and true putting surface. This is not a hole to hit long, as behind the mounds at the back of the green is a steep run-off into trees and heavy rough.

Rowan Over Par 4   Rhidorroch Par 4
White Tee  298 SI 6   Yellow Tee 300 SI 9
Red Tee 282 SI 10   Red Tee 247 SI 14

Straight wide fairway leading back to the Clubhouse, Out of Bounds on the left and a ditch (WH) and rough ground on the right. The last hole on the course presents a very narrow opening from the yellow tee with the trees and greenkeeper's shed forming a natural obstacle to keep the ball right. The red tee is 50 yards forward and raised to give an excellent view up the fairway to the green. At 150yds from the tee a road crosses the hole at an angle. A rowan tree can impede a second shot on the left with a LWH ditch alongside the fairway, and to the right are two bunkers nestled in the grass banks. One of the trickiest multi-levelled greens, quartered on four levels, can be very easy or extremely hard depending on the pin position.
